Karen, Richard, Emma and Jackie - we're Going Organic!
Karen began to sow the seeds with a friend back in 1999 with the concept of delivering
fresh organic vegetable boxes in Hertfordshire. After walking our
children round Ware and Hertford delivering leaflets to homes we had
our first 100 customers. We had young children at that time and wanted
to keep our business small, working as full-time mums and part- time
veg ladies! So we looked after our first customers for 3 years without
advertising but growing steadily thanks to our customers' recommendations.
Towards the end of 2004, we delivered more leaflets and our customers responded very well to the offer of free boxes for recommendations. We expanded our area to cover Royston and the surrounding villages and are continuing to spread further afield. We run our business from home and boxes are packed and despatched from our barn just outside Ware.
Most of our produce comes from a family run organic wholesalers based at New Covent Garden. They have their own farms in the UK as well as links with farms in Europe. We also buy seasonal vegetables and salads from growers in Cambridgeshire.
We deliver to Hertford, Ware, Royston, Bishops Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Buntingford, Harlow and Welwyn Garden City and many villages around these towns. Whenever possible our produce is sourced from UK farms and growers with imported items also available e.g. out of season salads, oranges and bananas etc. All our products are 100% organic.
